Description:Responsible to the Medical Services Vice President for the development, implementation, and maintenance of evidenced based physician order sets.
Duties:Customizes, Implements and Maintains Evidenced Based Order Sets
  • Customizes and converts facility to new physician order sets by working with IS, AIS, Physicians and hospital departments. li> Develops Guidelines and Procedures for Physician Order Sets
  • Coordinates and completes the development of Zynx guidelines and procedures by “go-live” date.
  • Coordinates and completes the electronic Zynx build.

    Coordinates and Facilitates the Hospital Design Meetings for the Development of Physician Order Sets
  • Facilitates the design and development of the new physician order sets.
  • Meets project deadlines.

    Coordinates Physician Order Set Integration With Other Clinical Care Activities
  • Communicates all necessary information to affected parties.
  • Promotes adoption of Physician Order Sets through work with physician champions, clinical education and promotional activities.
  • Works with Physician Order Set experts to resolve organizational or technical issues and to obtain all necessary support to achieve project time lines and goals.

    Assists in the Development of Objectives for Clinical Quality Improvement
  • Organizes or participates in educational programs about quality improvement for staff and physicians.
  • Monitors usage and compliance of physician order sets.
  • Works with Performance Improvement to demonstrate clinical quality improvement related to physician order sets.

    Manages Project Expenses
  • Establish budgetary needs consistent with accomplishment of Physician Order Set development and implementation goals.

    Assumes Responsibility for Continued Self-Development
  • Attends all mandatory programs.
  • Meets job-specific educational requirements of the specific area.
  • Meets all health requirements in a timely manner.
  • Meets all licensure and certification requirements in a timely manner
  • Qualifications:
  • Must be detail-oriented and self-directed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Adult teaching skills preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer systems and technology.
  • Ability to apply computer technology to achieve results.

    Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of nursing experience in an acute setting.
  • Valid Indiana Registered Nurse license.
