Description:The Occupational Medical Technician works under the direction of the Physician and Nursing Staff, and contributes to the assessment of the health status of individuals, coordinates and schedules general preventitive physicals, pre-employment drug screens, following up with MRO's and companies on results. The job involves faxing mailing, and filing records of patient care. The technician also participates with the other office team and nursing staff to ensure safe and effectvive patient care.
Duties:Coordinates and Schedules Drug Screens
  • Coordinating and scheduling of preventitive physical exams and pre-employment exams, and also wellness exams.
  • Faxing, mailing, and filing records
  • Implement/evaluate patient care education strategies to promote health
  • Answering phone calls, helping patients get to the correct resource for their needed care.
  • Contacting Medical Review Officers and companies with results on tests

    Technician Education
  • Following guidelines on patient confidentiality and care.
  • Staff education regarding changes to clinical competencies

    Non-Invasive Procedures
  • Vision/Hearing general testing


  • Maintain Proper Daily Operations
  • Perform necessary sterilization of equipment and maintain required records
  • Responsible for inventory and order of needed clinical supplies and medications
  • Manage and organize records preparation
  • Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of basic office procedure and be skilled in safe administration practices.
  • Knowledge of protocol, procedure and practices in communicating drug testing results to multiple companies.
  • Ability to recognize adverse patient signs and symptoms and to react appropriately.
  • Must be able to identify and provide for age-specific patient needs.
  • Must be able to assess, interpret, and appropriately react to key data about a patient’s status.
  • Skill in operating job related office and non-invasive medical equipment.

    Minimum Position Qualifications
  • Previous physician office experience preferred
  • Must hold current Indiana Licensure.
  • CPR certification required.
