| Description: | The EPIC Application Coordinator for Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management performs system builds tasks and provides support of new ambulatory practice software applications. They will assess systems changes, determine needs for growth and optimization, and will communicate to end user representatives on meeting project objectives.
This position requires training and certification at the vendor's location on the Epic scheduling application called Cadence and the Epic registration application called Prelude. The candidate will perform work in the areas of requirements gathering, original software builds, ongoing back-end configuration changes, implementation procedures, and ongoing on-call user support for ambulatory clinic front desk applications and users.

| Duties: | System Build
Completes and masters all mandatory EPIC programs.
Analyzes workflow at early implementation sites and develops a detailed understanding of workflows.
Participates in workflow design and system builds and develops a clear understanding of and ability to edit system configurations.
Assists in design and build of EPIC applications in a timely manner.
Ability to troubleshoot problems with applications in a timely manner.
Analyzes data conversion needs in a timely manner.
Ensures that data interfacing meets business needs and is presented in an understandable format for users.
System Implementation
Assists onsite with go live at each practice.
Willingness to travel and provide support at corporate-wide location.
Assists trainers during user training.
System Maintenance and Support
Develops and supports change control procedures for the system.
Collects information regarding potential system enhancement needs.
Prioritizes and implements system changes and enhancements.
Analyzes new functionality in new releases to determine whether or how it should be used.
Maintains master files and documentation supporting changes as appropriate.
Maintains up to date knowledge of assigned EPIC application and of practice workflows and processes.
Quality Improvement
Verifies the system works as described and identifies performance problems in a timely manner.
Visits user departments to solicit and make suggestions on system use.
Evaluates unresolved problems and provides appropriate follow-up of the identified problems.
Consults with vendors/Hospital MIS/AIS to obtain resolutions to identified problems.
Communication
Participates in management and staff meetings to ensure interdepartmental communications are effective.
Maintains a positive approach, works cooperatively with others, and demonstrates a constructive response to criticism.
Communicates effectively to end users about software changes in a timely and understandable method.

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
Excellent organizational/project management skills required.
Must be willing to travel 25% - 50% of the time throughout the corporate locations to assist with implementation and training on updates of EPIC applications.
Demonstrates effective teaching skills in the adult learning arena.
Bachelor degree in business administration, healthcare or information technology. Will consider associate degree with at least two years supervisory or management experience.
Previous EPIC experience is preferred, but not required. |
