Description:The Unit Secretary performs designated secretarial and receptionist tasks in a fast paced, multi-stimuli environment
Duties: General Responsibilities
  • Facilitates communications within the unit, relaying appropriate information timely and accurately.
  • Transcribes physician orders.
  • Maintains patient chart information in an accurate and timely manner. Places printed copies of reports into patient chart as soon as printed on floor.
  • Acts as receptionist for unit.
  • Alerts nurse of all STAT orders.
  • Orders routine unit supplies.
  • Obtains unit supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Enters routine patient charges.
  • Facilitates making the medical record information available to the care providers.
  • Keeps unit in orderly manner.
  • Qualifications:
  • Must be organized and able to work in a fast paced, multi-stimuli environment.
  • Medical Terminology course recommended.

    Minimum Position Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior healthcare related experience preferred.
  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
  • CPR required.
