| Description: | The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant is responsible for creative implementation of patient care exercise and activity that reflect the treatment goals. The incumbent collaborates with the evaluating therapist regarding patient progress and assists the staff therapist with both assigned direct and indirect patient care needs as appropriate. |
| Duties: | Implements Patient Treatment Plans Initiates exercises and activities in an original and creative manner that reflects unique integration of treatment plan goals. Demonstrates good patient relations in a positive, motivating manner. Manages time effectively and follows daily schedule. Flexes to areas in need with demonstrated spirit of teamwork.
Participates in Inventory Maintenance and Appropriate Organization of Supplies Orders supplies in a timely manner according to department procedures. Monitors supply and store inventory efficiently.
Assists Therapists with Patient Set-up and Patient Care Requiring Additional Hands-on Interventions Works as a team with therapist or other allied health professional to problem solve best care strategies. Prepares treatment area for optimum use and leaves treatment area in orderly manner.
Participates in Department Communication Structure Attends meetings on time and contributes to problem solving discussions. Reports census needs to appropriate organizing staff Completes assigned special projects in timely and quality manner. |
| Qualifications: | Previous experience in area of applied interest preferred. Associate’s degree required from an accredited School of Occupational Therapy. Certification is required |
