Medical Assistant, Physician Office (Nephrology)

The Medical Assistant provides administrative and clinical support to physician practices. Under the direct supervision of an RN, Medical Assistants may provide care which is considered routine, poses little potential hazard for the patient, involve little or no modification from one client-care situation to another, be performed with a predictable outcome, or is does not inherently involve ongoing assessments, interpretations, or decision-making, which could not be logically separated from the procedure itself.
A physician is always physically present in the treatment facility when a medical assistant is performing a procedure. With specified training and conditions, Medical Assistants may be allowed to administer medication and withdraw blood.
This position will support the Sigma Medical Group Nephrology practice.
|Duties:||Takes vital signs and documents activities of daily living on appropriate record in a timely manner Assists patients into exam rooms With appropriate training and documentation of such training, completes blood draws, venipunctures, injections, EKGs and other clinical tasks as assigned by the physician or registered nurse Documents results and activities as appropriate Provides general medical assisting support to the physician office staff Provide physician office administrative support. |
|Qualifications:||Basic knowledge of insurance, managed care and the referral process Good problem solving, verbal and written communication skills The ability to work as a team member Strong computer skills required |
Minimum Position Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant diploma or certification from a recognized program or equivalent experience. Minimum of three years experience as a Medical Assistant in physician office or clinic preferred.
